Dept. of Aeronautical Engineering, NFU

:::

Aerospace technology encompasses fields such as mechanical, electronic, materials, communications, navigation, control, and systems engineering. It serves as an indicator of a nation’s overall technological, industrial, and defense capabilities. Its industry characteristics include high product added value, strict quality requirements, strong interconnections with other industries, and the need to apply advanced technologies from related fields. Therefore, aerospace can effectively drive industrial upgrading. Additionally, Taiwan’s location at the geographic center of Asia-Pacific air transport is highly advantageous for combining civil aviation, industrial, and commercial development, positioning Taiwan as a regional operation and transfer hub. In light of this, the government selected the aerospace industry as one of the ten emerging industries that Taiwan urgently needed to develop in the 21st century. The government is committed to promoting Taiwan as an Asia-Pacific operations and transfer center, and with Taiwan joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) and enabling cross-strait direct flights, the civil aviation industry is expected to flourish further. Consequently, there is an urgent domestic demand for aircraft engineering professionals.
